Product Update: The Automation Engine That Changes Everything

Build sophisticated automations without code. Our new automation engine puts triggers, rules, and actions in your hands.

This is the update we've been building towards for two years.

Until now, complex automation in SwiftCase meant either working within the constraints of our standard workflow tools or asking us to build something custom. Both had limitations. Standard tools couldn't handle every scenario. Custom development took time and budget.

Today, that changes.

Build What You Need, Without Writing Code

The new automation engine gives you the building blocks to create virtually any automated process:

Triggers define what starts your automation. A file uploaded. An email received. A status changed. A scheduled time. A field updated. You pick the event, SwiftCase watches for it.

Rules define when automation should actually run. Maybe you only want to escalate claims over £10,000. Maybe you only want to notify managers when a case has been open for more than 48 hours. Combine conditions with AND/OR logic to be as specific as you need.

Actions define what happens. Send an email. Create a task. Update a field. Trigger an API call. Change a status. Notify a user. Chain multiple actions together.

Criteria fine-tune everything based on your data. Different actions for different customer types. Different escalation paths for different products. Your business logic, your rules.

What This Means for Your Business

The insurance broker who wanted automatic escalation based on claim value and age? Now configurable in minutes.

The healthcare provider who needed different pathways based on referral source? Build it yourself, test it, deploy it.

The property manager who wanted automatic contractor assignment based on job type and location? Done.

These scenarios used to require our development team. Now they require your operations team and an hour of configuration.

Repeating Data Made Simple

We've also introduced collection questions. These handle scenarios where you need multiple instances of the same information structure:

  • Multiple vehicles on a single claim
  • Multiple medications for a patient
  • Multiple line items on an invoice
  • Multiple contacts for an account

The data stays structured, works with document generation, and flows through to integrations cleanly.

Write Better with Live Counts

Our text editor now shows live word, character, and line counts as you type. Useful when you're writing communications with length limits or when you need to keep messages concise.

Organise Your Documents

Tasks can accumulate dozens or hundreds of files over their lifetime. You can now create folders within each task to organise them sensibly. Correspondence in one folder. Evidence in another. Reports in a third. Whatever structure works for your process.
